A customer came into the deli the other day and was very suprised to find the olive oil Poggio Cappiano on the shelf. He said, because this oil is so highly recomended that the only place he would be able to find it was new York.
This olive oil should be used for dipping and drizzeling over just about everything you fix to eat. There is no acid after taste. You actually taste the olives on what ever you have put it on and it is not over powering. It compliments what ever you put it on.
I am very pleased to hear of the positive reception of Joe’s clients. I also have to say that even months after production, the characteristics of our oil do in fact alter very little. In addition to the passion we put into our work, this is also due to the olive varieties we use to produce our oil, primarily the madremignola variety. These olives have a lower yield but their fundamental characteristics are excellent.
In a short time from now, the new campaign for olive oil will begin, starting late October / early November until December – January. I’ll keep you informed……

Hi!
The 2007/2008 olive harvest campaign has started a few days ago. Due to the bad weather conditions we have been forced to postpone the start of the harvest, and this year the quantity of olives is also very low mainly due to the climate conditions through the year. We started to harvest on Saturday last week, and in the evening we pressed our first olives. Normally all olives are pressed within 24-36 hours after harvesting. We hope the weather stays nice through the whole week so we can continue our work. We will keep you posted!

Hi!
We restarted our harvesting after a few days of delay due to bad weather. The harvesting campaign should finish soon as there aren’t many olives this year.
Several batches of olives have already been pressed. The new oil looks great, as always, though the climatic conditions were obviously not favourable during the year.
Speak soon,

Hi,
on Sunday 11 November we took part in the Oleovagando festival, which takes place in many villages and towns in Tuscany. The village of Ponte a Cappiano too, in concomitance with “Sapori d’Autunno” (Fall tastes) – promoted by the Cultural Association “Il Ponte Mediceo” – took part in the event (new oil and wine tasting) for the second time. We were present too. The event will be repeated again in Ponte a Cappiano on 9 December.
