I always look forward to the holidays because the family spends the whole day together. The food is great and the different personalities come out because that is who they are. No fake facades, the real deal. The mothers and the food that they prepare is the glue that brings all this together and makes the memories that we have for a life time.

FESTIVALS IN TUSCANY
Hello everyone,
The Spring Festival took place on Saturday 30th May, Sunday 1st June and Monday 2nd June in Ponte a Cappiano. This included several displays both in the town itself and at the Villa Landini Marchiani. The Association which organized the event, Il Ponte Mediceo (www.ilpontemediceo.it), did an excellent job.
We were also present with our own stall.
We shall be taking part in yet another event next week, namely the ‘Mercatale di Firenze’ (the farmers’ markets), which will also be repeated on several other dates leading up to December. The ‘Mercatale’ will be opened on 21st June 2008 in Piazza del Carmine, on the occasion of the ‘Notte Bianca’ (open-air festival) of Florence.
We will be taking part on 21st June in Piazza del Carmine and 6th December in Piazza SS. Annunziata.
If any of you are in Italy and particularly in Florence on the above dates, I would be pleased to meet you at the stall of the Azienda Agricola Poggio Cappiano.
Ciao
Fabrizio

The special event named “ il Ponte rivive” (which means “the old Bridge of Ponte a Cappiano comes back to life”) took place on Sunday 14th September.
For a whole day Ponte a Cappiano returned to the XIV century, thanks to the celebration organized by the ‘contrada’ or ‘ancient quarter’ of Cappiano. A selection of photographs of the event can be viewed on the Contrada’s web-site: www.contradacappiano.it
